Cost drivers
What does yacht wrapping cost?
A reliable figure only follows an inspection of the yacht. What can be stated honestly in advance are the factors that drive the effort — and that is what we explain here.
Area and geometry
Developed surface area is the first driver: hull, superstructure, bow section and details are assessed separately.
Strong curvature, swages, railing penetrations and window frames take considerably more time than one large flat panel.
Material choice
Design film typically runs 80–110 µm, SPF surface protection film 150–250 µm — different thicknesses mean different handling effort.
Coloured SPF is fully pigmented and combines a colour change with protection, but sits above a pure design film in material cost.
Preparation and substrate condition
Cleaning, degreasing, edge preparation and dealing with existing paint damage all feed into the effort.
A substrate with prior damage needs preparatory work; without it there is no clean bond and no predictable service life.
Location and conditions
Temperature, humidity, dust, tenting, scaffolding or staging as well as marina or shipyard access and work permits affect duration and planning.
We work mobile at the berth or in a partner shipyard; access is agreed and approved per project.
Is there a price per square metre?
A flat rate per square metre is misleading on yachts, because geometry and preparation influence effort more than area alone. We quote after inspection.
Is film cheaper than a repaint?
In many projects yes, particularly for shorter service intervals and reversible design changes. The comparison depends on the condition of the original paint and the goal of the project.
